Arvada, CO, June 2, 2026 – Diamond T Services CEO Vanessa Ingalls has been invited to participate in a round table at the International Energy Agency’s 11th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, taking place June 29-30 in Montreal. The invitation was extended through Alfa Laval, Diamond T’s long-time equipment partner, as part of a forum that draws more than 600 ministers, executives, and engineers.
The IEA sets the global standard for energy analysis and policy. Its annual efficiency conference brings together governments and industry leaders to advance measurable progress on energy efficiency worldwide. Diamond T’s participation reflects a perspective the company has built over two decades: that the operational case and the environmental case for centrifuge technology are the same argument.
The Case She’s Built Over Two Decades
Ingalls brings a perspective shaped by two sides of the energy efficiency debate: what the policy arguments promise, and what the field actually delivers.
Before founding Diamond T, she worked with a firm engaged by the Obama administration to evaluate green energy projects competing for federal grants. That work meant assessing project viability and conducting carbon life-cycle analyses for proposals seeking public funding. The question in each case was whether the efficiency claims would hold up under scrutiny. The projects that held up shared one characteristic: the gains were operational, rooted in how the process ran rather than in projections made ahead of it.
Ingalls built Diamond T around that observation. In drilling, centrifuges help keep fluid clean, balanced, and reusable by removing fine solids that build up in the mud system. That allows operators to reduce dilution, recover more usable fluid, and lower the volume of waste hauled off for disposal. In manufacturing and industrial operations, the same process can help recover material that would otherwise be lost to wastewater. Those outcomes do not require a separate sustainability initiative. They follow from running the separation process well.
Alfa Laval extended this invitation because it has made the same argument across industries for decades. The strongest case for energy efficiency is built on operations, not on projections. That shared conviction is what Diamond T brings to Montreal.
Proving the Case in the UAE
ADNOC has made energy efficiency central to its modernization agenda. Its shift from conventional vertical drilling to unconventional horizontal programs demanded a fundamental change in how drilling fluid was managed. The hydraulic centrifuge systems previously in use were built for vertical operations at a different scale and processing speed, and could not keep pace with the volume demands of unconventional drilling.
Through its work with major US operators, Diamond T brought the equipment and methodologies modern horizontal programs require to the UAE. In 2025, Diamond T deployed a new fleet of large capacity, big bowl Alfa Laval fully variable, electric centrifuges. The new equipment processes drilling fluid to a recirculation standard rather than a disposal standard at the volumes horizontal programs generate. Disposal runs drop, and the environmental footprint contracts. Both improvements trace back to the same operational change.
That is the conversation Ingalls is taking to Montreal.
“For a long time, sustainability and margins have been treated as two separate conversations,” said Ingalls. “Twenty years in liquid-solid separation tells a different story. When you run a separation process well, you capture better project economics and the sustainable results more operators are being asked to demonstrate. There is no tradeoff, and the industry is starting to recognize that.”
Diamond T’s deployments of Alfa Laval centrifuges span oil and gas, mining, and industrial operations across the US, Canada and the Middle East. For Ingalls, the IEA conference is an opportunity to bring a practical, field-based perspective to the global energy efficiency conversation.
